About Me:

I have worked as a public servant for 17 years.  I have served Northside ISD, Kenedy ISD, Beeville ISD, Mission CISD, and Coastal Bend Community College.

I graduated from Highlands High School in 2003 and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University in 2007.  I earned my Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Certificate with Recognition for Outstanding Performance in 2017.

Courses I have taught include:  Speech, ESL, Foundational English, English II, English III with AP English III, and Yearbook.  I served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the LVN Program at Coastal Bend Community College.  I taught my cohort their practical skills, tested them through practicum, and supervised them at their various clinical sites for Level 2 and Level 3 skills.  My students prepared for and passed their NCLEX Exams to earn their LVN Licenses.

My nursing career began in the Medical Surgical/Pediatric (Med-Surg/Pedi) unit at Christus Spohn Hospital in Beeville in 2017.  I assisted in the Emergency Room (ER), Intesive Care Unit (ICU), and Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit.  When Covid hit in 2020 I remained on the front lines working in the hospital's Covid unit.  I assisted our local nursing home as a Covid Unit Charge Nurse and was proud to successfully close that unit.  While teaching at Coastal Bend Community College I also served as a Private Duty Nurse.  Community care and education remains at the forefront of my practice.

Teaching Health Science at Pioneer High School brings my passion for education, nursing, and community outreach together.  I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my Sharyland Community and am excited for our 2023-2024 School Year.  Go Diamondbacks!
