Welcome to my teacher website! My name is Monica D. Rodriguez and I am the CTE/Science teacher for Pioneer High School! I am excited to have you and/or your student in my class this 2023-2024 school year!
About Me
I grew up in the valley and am a product of McAllen ISD. I earned my Bachelors of Exercise Sport Science with a minor in Sports Psychology at Texas State University as well as my Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies in Physics at the University of Texas Pan American.
My teaching certificates include: 8-12 Science Composite, Family Consumer Science, 6-12 ESL, 4-8 Science, and 4-8 Generalist. This is my 16th year teaching at the secondary level, 9 of those years were in Sharyland ISD (6 years at Sharyland North Jr. High and 3 years at Sharyland Advanced Academic Academy). My teaching experience includes me teaching: 6-8 science, Biology, Chemistry, IPC, Physics, Food Science, and UT OnRamps Physics.
I have a beautiful family with two beautiful children, Ethan and Olivia. When I am not teaching, all of my time is spent making memories with them!
