Hello My Name Is...
Josue A. Martinez
Mathematics Instructor
Room B236
I began teaching in 2003 and I am happy to be at the start of another great year! I enjoy teaching all sorts of Math content, but would have to say that Geometry and its applications are a favorite. I look forward to welcoming each and everyone into the classroom. Remember, it does take work and effort to complete some of the tasks that we will see this year, but the reward will always be satisfying.
A bit about myself, I graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 1998 and proceeded to move back to the Valley. I was born in Brownsville and was happy to come back to the area. I attended UTPA and received a double major in Mathematics and Physics with a minor in Secondary Education. I was able to complete the traditional student teaching route before graduating in 2003 and received my SBEC 6-12 Texas Classroom Teaching Certificate. Several years later in 2011, I received my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology from GCU.
In previous years I have taught Algebra I CP (College Preparation) and Pre-AP (Advanced Placement), Algebra I ESL (English as Second Language), Geometry CP, Honors, Pre-AP and the 8th Grade Geometry Cohort, Algebra II CP, Honors and Pre-AP, and Pre-Calculus. I was also privileged to coach and sponsor the UIL Spelling and Computer Applications team last year.
